Gyrfalcon is one of the name of raptors. It originates in Heilongjiang and Jilin areas, and is the largest falcon genus of birds. Since ancient times, it has been regarded as a precious falcon. Furthermore, it is also the representative of Manchurian totem, symbolizing the spirit of courage and wisdom…etc. “Compendium of Materia Medica” reads: “the falcon out of Liaodong, only the best one can be called Gyrfalcon.” Qing Emperor Kangxi also appreciated its vigorous tough stance, making a verse: “Among three hundred and sixty genera of birds, much the handsomest one belongs to Gyrfalcon.”
To this, designer Yi-hsuan Lee gives a thick and vigorous wide outline, abstractly and delicately carving falcon’s beak and claws on the ring, so that the power and beauty of the lines can be fully demonstrated.
In 1967, an African indigene accidentally tripped over a stone. Looking closely at it, he found the stone that it should have such an unusually beautiful blue. Since then, the gemstone kingdom has one more dazzling new member. As it produced from Tanzania, East Africa, people gave it an exotic name “Tanzanite”. So far, Tanzania is still the only country that produces tanzanite.
The beauty of tanzanite color lies not only on rich blue with a violet hue, but also there is strong pleochroism. Therefore, from different angles to view the same stone, you will be able to clearly see many different colors, showing fascinating and varied flavors.
