Gyrfalcon

Gyrfalcon is one of the name of raptors. It originates in Heilongjiang and Jilin areas, and is the largest falcon genus of birds. Since ancient times, it has been regarded as a precious falcon. Furthermore, it is also the representative of Manchurian totem, symbolizing the spirit of courage and wisdom…etc. “Compendium of Materia Medica” reads: “the falcon out of Liaodong, only the best one can be called Gyrfalcon.” Qing Emperor Kangxi also appreciated its vigorous tough stance, making a verse: “Among three hundred and sixty genera of birds, much the handsomest one belongs to Gyrfalcon.”

Tanzanite

In 1967, an African indigene accidentally tripped over a stone. Looking closely at it, he found the stone that it should have such an unusually beautiful blue. So far, Tanzania is still the only country that produces tanzanite.
