Sea of Clouds

A drop of water in the mountains can take on many beautiful forms—flowing as a spring, drifting as mountain mist, or falling as rain—continuously moving through the natural world.

In Sea of Clouds, Arista Lee captures the epic journey of a single drop of water. Through fluid lines and layered forms, she transforms a gushing mountain spring into a vast, billowing sea of clouds. The towering mountain peaks become green islands floating above the clouds, with only a hint of lush forest emerging from their summits.

At the center of the ring is an exceptional 6.12-carat tsavorite. Its vivid color, exceptional transparency, and clean appearance are enhanced by masterful cutting, resulting in remarkable brilliance. GRS awarded the stone a “Vibrant” grade, reflecting its vivid visual character and exceptional light performance. Achieving this level of brilliance required substantial weight loss during the cutting process, making the resulting stone all the more remarkable.

Retaining a weight of more than six carats after cutting suggests that the original rough crystal may have exceeded 15 carats. As tsavorite crystals are typically smaller than one carat, a stone of this size and quality is exceptionally rare and highly prized by collectors.
