Story Behind the Work

Wish Fulfillment

The power of the sea has always inspired both awe and reverence. Across cultures, people have believed in deities who command the sea and protect those who venture beyond the shore, watching over their safe passage and return.

Inspired by European ship figureheads, designer Arista Lee brings the image of a sea goddess to life in Wish Fulfillment. With her eyes gently closed and pearls held in her hands, the goddess appears to listen intently to the wishes of those who set sail, offering them her most sincere blessings.

Aquamarine and pearl both evoke the spirit of the sea, yet their textures and luster are distinctly different. Brought together in this design, they create a fresh and unexpected visual dialogue between the clarity of aquamarine and the soft radiance of pearl.

Black Current

The Kuroshio is a powerful ocean current that flows along the East Asian island arc. Its name, meaning “Black Current,” refers to the deeper color of its waters compared with the surrounding sea.

Moving swiftly across the ocean, the Kuroshio is often described as the “highway of the sea.” Its powerful currents sustain diverse marine life while connecting distant waters through a network of routes that have shaped maritime cultures for centuries.

Inspired by the Kuroshio, this ring features flowing lines that convey the immense energy of an ocean current. Alongside the aquamarine, ten Akoya cultured pearls ranging from 3.0 to 4.5 mm are set across the design, evoking waves stirred by the current and creating a vibrant, organic sense of movement.

Fair Wind

The sea reveals its grandeur through powerful waves, yet when the waters are calm, it takes on an entirely different character—quiet, expansive, and serene.

Compared with the other works in the Voyage Series, the lines of Fair Wind are considerably more delicate and gently curved, creating a sense of tranquility and effortless calm.

Rather than arranging square gemstones in a conventional, orderly formation, Arista Lee introduces a subtle design detail by rotating each square-cut aquamarine 45 degrees and connecting them in a series of diamond shapes. This simple yet distinctive treatment brings a sense of movement to the geometric structure, allowing the bracelet to stand apart with understated individuality.
