ESCAPE FROM ROUTINE LIVES
Daydreams, lying in the gap between dream and reality, roam between the conscious and unconscious.
Oftentimes, I stay at a place but feel my mind start to wander into a space of different dimension, where multiple thoughts and everyday scenes begin overlapping and interconnecting with each other. Papers on the desk start to fold into shapes, stand on their edges and corners, and slowly begin to walk; from the book that’s just being read well up massive waves along with the narrated story; heavy elephants step on paper planes and start flying, light as gentle winds.
At that moment, the seemingly unrealistic fantasy appears to have life and begin to wander freely. Yet, when someone pats me on the shoulder, I am once again pulled back to reality in a flash.
We dream, play, fantasize and create from time to time when we were children. Some stationery, a piece of paper, or a book could all become the utopia where we run away from reality.
After growing up, we can only occasionally glimpse such fantasy in those sober moments in our normal routine lives.
