PEONY
Peony
Body elegant and dignified, looks beautiful and fragrant, the peony with naturally grand posture has been regarded as the king of flowers by poets and scholars since ancient times. The Tang Dynasty poet “Xu Ning” made a poem named “Peony”: “Who does not love the peony? Its beauty wins all the good things in the city; it seems the incarnation of Luo River Goddess, whose enchanting charm beats the rosy dawn.” imaging the reappearance of the beautiful River Goddess.
Designers Yi-Hsuan Lee adopted three-layer-blooming complicated process, with 3D practice showing the peony petal’s layers and fullness, the star ruby of cabochon cut make it look like the morning dew, implying the meaning in the poem that its enchanting charm beats the rosy dawn, endowing this poem with more vivid imagination, and making the wearer naturally become a noble beauty.
Star Ruby
Star ruby is the most precious gem stone among those with starlight phenomenon. The cause is that a ruby inside contains sufficient amount of the fine rutile needles, in which three groups of needles arranged regularly according to the parallel direction to each other, with careful calculation of the position and angle by cutting division, grinding the stone into a cabochon, then there will be three beautiful starlines meeting at the top of gem stone.
Usually the general ruby would be heat-treated to improve its color, but the starlight phenomenon comes from the inclusions of gem stone, the heating will melt needles and cause Astral light to disappear, if its inclusion is too much, it will affect the clarity of gem stone. Therefore, the star ruby with blooming color and obvious star lines, without through heating, is really scarce treasure which is obtainable just by luck.
